Fluorocitric Acid is a glial metabolic inhibitor.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 357-89-1 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 3,5 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 357-89:
(5*3)+(4*5)+(3*7)+(2*8)+(1*9)=81
81 % 10 = 1
So 357-89-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Improved synthesis of d,l-fluorocitric acid
Vardanyan, Ruben,Kumirov, Vlad K.,Hruby, Victor J.
experimental part, p. 920 - 924 (2011/11/12)
We propose a decagram synthesis of commercially unavailable fluorocitric acid. The synthesis begins with benzyl fluoroacetate, which is converted to dibenzyl 2-fluoro-3-oxosuccinate, followed by condensation with malonic acid or its monobenzyl ester and subsequent hydrogenolysis.
