6-Bromobenzoxazole is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C7H4BrNO, consisting of a benzene ring fused to a oxazole ring with a bromine atom attached at the 6-position. It is a pale yellow to beige crystalline solid that is used in organic synthesis as a building block for various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. 6-Bromobenzoxazole is also employed as a fluorescent dye in biological and analytical research, as it emits blue light when exposed to UV radiation.
