Cyclopropane, (trifluoromethyl)-, also known as 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)cyclopropane or halothane, is a halogenated ether with the chemical formula C3H3F3. It is a colorless, volatile, and highly flammable liquid with a sweet odor. Cyclopropane, (trifluoromethyl)- is widely used as an inhalation anesthetic in medical procedures due to its rapid onset, low toxicity, and minimal side effects. It is also employed as a refrigerant, propellant, and solvent in various industrial applications. However, its use has been restricted in some countries due to its potential to deplete the ozone layer and its greenhouse gas effects.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 381-74-8 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 3,8 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 381-74:
(5*3)+(4*8)+(3*1)+(2*7)+(1*4)=68
68 % 10 = 8
So 381-74-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Photochemistry of ((Trifluoromethyl)azo)cyclopropane: A Reinvestigation

Engel, Paul S.,Wu, Wen-Xue

, p. 1503 - 1505 (2007/10/02)

The solution-phase photolysis of ((trifluoromethyl)azo)cyclopropane (TFMACP) leads to a very different product distribution than the one reported previously. While CF3H was claimed to be the major product, we instead find much cis-TFMACP, 1-(trifluoromethyl)-2-pyrazoline (5), and (trifluoromethyl)cyclopropane. The four primary photoreactions responsible for these products are exactly analogous to those taking place in azocyclopropane.
