1,2,4-Triazines derivatives possessing different aryl groups at the 5- and 6-positions were synthesized by the addition of arylmagnesium bromides (Ar'MgBr) to 6-aryl(Ar)-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazines with the free 5-position, and subsequent oxidation of the resulting 2,5-dihydro intermediates.The synthesis of 6-aryl-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazines is also described.
