PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel organic semiconductor having all of high carrier mobility, heat resistance and solvent solubility, a composition for film making comprising the organic semiconductor, an organic thin film made with the composition for film making, and an organic transistor element comprising the organic thin film as an active layer. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a dithiazolobenzodithiophene compound represented by general formula (1) (where R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-C20 alkyl group, a C1-C20 haloalkyl group, or a C6-C14 aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted by a C1-C12 alkyl group). Four more pyridazine compounds were synthesized.The compounds have a general structure R-X-Y-Z-R'; where Y is 3,6 disubstituted pyridazine ring, X and Z are either trans cyclohexyl or phenyl rings, R and R' are n-alkyl groups.The structure assignments were confirmed by carbon 13 NMR.Their liquid crystalline properties were evaluated.When both X and Z are cyclohexyl rings, the compounds have a single smectic b phase.However, if a phenyl ring is introduced into the system, the morphology becomes complicated.Keywords: synthesis, pyridazine, smectic, classification
