1(2H)-Pyridinecarboxylic acid, 3,6-dihydro-4-(4-nitrophenyl)-, 1,1-dimethylethyl ester is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C17H20N2O4. It is commonly known as tadalafil, and it is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis, allowing for a stronger and longer-lasting erection. It belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors and is typically taken orally.
