Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 400720-17-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 4,0,0,7,2 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 400720-17:
(8*4)+(7*0)+(6*0)+(5*7)+(4*2)+(3*0)+(2*1)+(1*7)=84
84 % 10 = 4
So 400720-17-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Paragraph 0594, (2016/12/01)

A compound selected from 14-O-[((Alkyl-, cycloalkyl-, heterocycloalkyl-, heteoroaryl-, or aryl)-sulfanyl)-acetyl]-12-epi-mutilins, or 14-O-[((Alkyl-, cycloalkyl-, heterocycloalkyl-, heteoroaryl-, or aryl)-oxy)-acetyl]-12-epi-mutilins, wherein 12-epi-mutilin is characterized in that the mutilin ring at position 12 is substituted by two substituents, the first substituent at position 12 of the mutilin ring is a methyl group which methyl group has the inverse stereochemistry compared with the stereochemistry of the methyl group at position 12 of the naturally occurring pleuromutilin ring, the second substituent at position 12 of the mutilin ring is a hydrocarbon group comprising at least one nitrogen atom and all other substituents of the mutilin ring having the same stereochemistry compared with the stereochemistry of the substituents at the corresponding positions in the naturally occurring pleuromutilin ring; optionally in the form of a salt and/or solvate, wherein the naturally occurring pleuromutilin is of formula processes for the preparation of such compounds and their use as pharmaceuticals.

Synthesis of schaefferals A and B, unusual phenylhydrazine derivatives from mushrooms of the genus agaricus

Kileci-Ksoll, Rengin,Winklhofer, Christian,Steglich, Wolfgang

experimental part, p. 2287 - 2291 (2010/08/21)

Schaefferals were identified as chromogens responsible for the development of an orange to red color after treating the caps of certain Agaricus species with aniline and nitric acid (Schaeffers cross reaction). The structures of schaefferals A and B were confirmed by total synthesis. The color reaction can be explained by reaction of their aldehyde group with aniline and protonation of the azomethine thus formed, yielding a red delocalized cation.
