PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye excellent in fastness, particularly, ozone gas resistance when recorded in inkjet-exclusive paper; and an ink composition containing the dye, particularly, a black ink composition for inkjet recording. SOLUTION: There are provided an azo compound represented by formula (1) or a tautomer thereof, or a salt thereof. In formula (1), R1 represents C1-4 alkyl group and the like; R2 represents a cyano group; R3 and R4 each independently represents H, a sulfo group, and the like; R5 and R6 each independently represents C1-C4 alkylthio group substituted with one or more groups selected from a hydroxy group, a sulfo group, or a carboxyl group; R7 is an alkoxyl group of C1-4 sulfo group; R8 represents an alkylcarbonylamino group of C2-4 carboxy group and the like; R9 represents C1-4 alkylcarbonylamino group; R10 represents a methyl group; and R11 to R13 each independently represents H, a sulfo group, C1-4 alkyl group, and the like.
