This invention relates to phenylacetic acid derivatives having the formula: STR1 in which A represents a grouping STR2 R, R2, R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, represent each hydrogen or an alkyl group, and represents a single or double carbon-carbon bond; and their salts with inorganic and organic bases. Said compounds possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities that make them therapeutically useful, in particular for the treatment of rheumatic diseases and of local inflammations.
