Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 4200-92-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,2,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4200-92:
(6*4)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*9)+(1*2)=54
54 % 10 = 4
So 4200-92-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of monosubstituted succinic acids from tert-butylsuccinate
Bergmeier,Ismail
, p. 1369 - 1371 (2007/10/03)
We report the preparation and alkylation of the dianion of t-butylsuccinate. This alkylation reaction has proven to be a useful method for the preparation of monosubstituted succinic acids and anhydrides.
