427-00-9 Usage
Uses
Used in Pain Management:
Desomorphine is used as an analgesic (narcotic) for the treatment of severe pain. It is particularly effective in managing pain due to its potent narcotic properties.
Used in Clinical Toxicology and Forensic Analysis:
Desomorphine is used as a solution standard in LC/MS or GC/MS opiate testing applications. This helps in the identification and quantification of the drug in various samples, which is crucial in clinical toxicology and forensic analysis.
Used in Prescription Monitoring and Urine Drug Testing:
Desomorphine is also used in prescription monitoring and urine drug testing to detect its presence and ensure compliance with prescribed medications or to identify potential cases of abuse.
Used in Research and Development:
As a morphine derivative, desomorphine is utilized in research and development for the study of its chemical properties, potential medical applications, and the development of new drugs with similar or improved effects.
Used in Drug Enforcement and Regulation:
Desomorphine's status as a controlled substance necessitates its use in drug enforcement and regulation efforts. This includes monitoring its production, distribution, and consumption to prevent illegal activities and ensure the drug is used for its intended medical purposes.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 427-00-9 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,2 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 427-00:
(5*4)+(4*2)+(3*7)+(2*0)+(1*0)=49
49 % 10 = 9
So 427-00-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 171 - 174 (2012/07/14)
This work describes a convenient and improved process for the synthesis of desomorphine from codeine. The proposed method affords the highly pure opiate without the aid of chromatographic purification, and provides a simple route for the synthesis of [2H3] deuterium-labeled desomorphine.
