Iron-catalyzed olefin hydrogenation at 1 bar H2 with a FeCl3-LiAlH4 catalyst

, p. 1408 - 1413 (2015)
The scope and mechanism of a practical protocol for the iron-catalyzed hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes at 1 bar H2 pressure were studied. The catalyst is formed from cheap chemicals (5 mol% FeCl3-LiAlH4, THF). A homogeneous mechanism operates at early stages of the reaction while active nanoparticles form upon ageing of the catalyst solution. This journal is
BENZOANNELATED VALENCE ISOMERS OF HOMOANNULENES IV. THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF SOME DIBENZO(C8H10) HYDROCARBONS
Banciu, Mircea D.,Parvulescu, Luminitza,Draghici, Constantin,Petride, Aurica,Banciu, Anca,et al.
, p. 631 - 637 (2007/10/03)
The flow-vacuum pyrolyses of dibenzo(C8H10)hydrocarbons 7,8, and 9 were studied at 1 Torr and in the temperature range between 400 and 800 deg C.Hydrocarbon 7 cleanly rearranges to 8 between 450 and 600 deg C.Above 600 deg C, hydrocarbon 8 is converted into 9 and anthracene.Hydrocarbon 9 is thermally stable up to 800 deg C.The reaction mechanisms are discussed.
