5,6-dihydro-dibenzo[a,e]cyclooctene is a complex organic compound with the molecular formula C16H14. It is a derivative of dibenzo[a,e]cyclooctene, which is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. 5,6-dihydro-dibenzocyclooctene is characterized by its unique structure, featuring two benzene rings fused to a cyclooctene ring, with a double bond between the 5th and 6th carbon atoms. The dihydro prefix indicates that it has two fewer hydrogen atoms than its fully hydrogenated counterpart, which can affect its chemical properties and reactivity. 5,6-dihydro-dibenzo[a,e]cyclooctene is of interest in organic chemistry and may have potential applications in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other complex molecules due to its rigid and planar structure.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4296-10-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,2,9 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4296-10:
(6*4)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*6)+(2*1)+(1*0)=90
90 % 10 = 0
So 4296-10-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Iron-catalyzed olefin hydrogenation at 1 bar H2 with a FeCl3-LiAlH4 catalyst

Gieshoff, Tim N.,Villa, Matteo,Welther, Alice,Plois, Markus,Chakraborty, Uttam,Wolf, Robert,Jacobi Von Wangelin, Axel

, p. 1408 - 1413 (2015)

The scope and mechanism of a practical protocol for the iron-catalyzed hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes at 1 bar H2 pressure were studied. The catalyst is formed from cheap chemicals (5 mol% FeCl3-LiAlH4, THF). A homogeneous mechanism operates at early stages of the reaction while active nanoparticles form upon ageing of the catalyst solution. This journal is

BENZOANNELATED VALENCE ISOMERS OF HOMOANNULENES IV. THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF SOME DIBENZO(C8H10) HYDROCARBONS

Banciu, Mircea D.,Parvulescu, Luminitza,Draghici, Constantin,Petride, Aurica,Banciu, Anca,et al.

, p. 631 - 637 (2007/10/03)

The flow-vacuum pyrolyses of dibenzo(C8H10)hydrocarbons 7,8, and 9 were studied at 1 Torr and in the temperature range between 400 and 800 deg C.Hydrocarbon 7 cleanly rearranges to 8 between 450 and 600 deg C.Above 600 deg C, hydrocarbon 8 is converted into 9 and anthracene.Hydrocarbon 9 is thermally stable up to 800 deg C.The reaction mechanisms are discussed.
