Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 476192-97-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 4,7,6,1,9 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 476192-97:
(8*4)+(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*9)+(3*2)+(2*9)+(1*7)=189
189 % 10 = 9
So 476192-97-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

scheme or table, p. 2820 - 2822 (2011/06/26)

Seeking compounds preferentially potent and selective for MMP-13, we reported in the preceding Letter on a series of hydroxamic acids with a flexible benzamide tail groups.1a Here, we replace the amide moiety with non-hydrolyzable heterocycles

Page 156, (2010/02/05)

This invention is directed to aromatic sulfone hydroxamates (also known as “aromatic sulfone hydroxamic acids”) and salts thereof that, inter alia, inhibit matrix metalloproteinase (also known as “matrix metalloprotease” or “MMP”) activity and/or aggrecanase activity. This invention also is directed to a prevention or treatment method that comprises administering such a compound or salt in an MMP-inhibiting and/or aggrecanase-inhibiting effective amount to an animal, particularly a mammal having (or disposed to having) a pathological condition associated with MMP and/or aggrecanase activity.
