Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 496863-23-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 4,9,6,8,6 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 496863-23:
(8*4)+(7*9)+(6*6)+(5*8)+(4*6)+(3*3)+(2*2)+(1*3)=211
211 % 10 = 1
So 496863-23-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Metal-Free C-O Bond Functionalization: Catalytic Intramolecular and Intermolecular Benzylation of Arenes

Bering, Luis,Jeyakumar, Kirujan,Antonchick, Andrey P.

supporting information, p. 3911 - 3914 (2018/07/22)

A catalytic, metal-free intramolecular rearrangement of benzyl phenyl ethers using nitrosonium salt as a catalyst is described. The optimized reaction conditions enabled a catalytic and metal-free Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction with benzylic alcohols, producing water as the stoichiometric byproduct. A comprehensive scope (>50 examples) for both approaches and application in drug synthesis were demonstrated. Mechanistic studies suggest a Lewis acid-based mechanism for the metal-free Friedel-Crafts reaction.

4,4′-Unsymmetrically substituted 3,3′-biphenyl alpha helical proteomimetics as potential coactivator binding inhibitors

Weiser, Patrick T.,Chang, Ching-Yi,McDonnell, Donald P.,Hanson, Robert N.

, p. 917 - 926 (2014/01/23)

A series of unsymmetrically substituted biphenyl compounds was designed as alpha helical proteomimetics with the aim of inhibiting the binding of coactivator proteins to the nuclear hormone receptor coactivator binding domain. These compounds were synthes
