This therapy is a targeted radiation treatment for cancer, where the compound is designed to selectively accumulate in cancerous cells. The boron atoms in the compound capture neutrons, which upon capture, emit radiation that destroys the surrounding cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
