Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 51439-47-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,1,4,3 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 51439-47:
(7*5)+(6*1)+(5*4)+(4*3)+(3*9)+(2*4)+(1*7)=115
115 % 10 = 5
So 51439-47-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Oxidative Coupling of 1,3-Dicarbonyl Compounds by Cerium(IV) Ammonium Nitrate

Song, Jianan,Zhang, Hao,Chen, Xianjun,Li, Xinsheng,Xu, Dongcheng

experimental part, p. 1847 - 1855 (2010/07/02)

A fast, mild, and highly efficient method for the intermolecular coupling of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds using cerium ammonium nitrate in CH 3CN/CH3OH/H2O has been described. The procedure provided a convenient method for the synthesis of 1,4-diketone derivatives with excellent yields (up to 96%) and powerful evidence for the oxidation mechanism mediated by cerium ammonium nitrate. Reaction of Triphenylphosphine Radical Cation with 1,3-Dicarbonyl Compounds: Electrochemical One-Step Preparation of Dioxomethylenetriphenylphosphoranes

Ohmori, Hidenobu,Maeda, Hatsuo,Tamaoka, Mie,Masui, Masaichiro

, p. 613 - 620 (2007/10/02)

Electrochemical oxidation of Ph3P (1) in MeCN in the presence of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, R1COCH2COR2 (3), with HClO4 as the supporting electrolyte resulted in the formation of the phosphonium salts, Ph3P+ -CH(COR1)COR2 ClO4- (4), provided that R1 and/or R2 is a phenyl group. On the other hand, electrolysis in CH2Cl2 with 2,6-lutidinium perchlorate gave the phosphoranes, Ph3P=C(COR1)COR2 (5), directly from 1 and 3 in fair to excellent yields: in this case, R1 or R2 need not necessarily be a phenyl group. Thus, the electrolysis is shown to be a convenient method to prepare 5 in a single step.Plausible processes for the formation of 4 and 5 are proposed, involving the reaction of electrochemically generated Ph3P+. with the enol form of 3 as the keystep. Keywords - triphenylphosphine; 1,3-dicarbonyl compound; dioxomethyltriphenylphosphonium perchlorate; dioxomethylenetriphenylphosphorane; electrochemical oxidation; constant current electrolysis

Hypervalent Iodine Oxidation: α-Functionalization of β-Dicarbonyl Compounds Using Iodosobenzene

Moriarty, Robert, M.,Vaid, Radhe K.,Ravikumar, Vasulinga T.,Vaid, Beena K.,Hopkins, Thomas E.

, p. 1603 - 1608 (2007/10/02)

Hypervalent iodine oxidation of β-diketones and β-ketoesters with iodosobenzene-boron trifluoride etherate in chloroform using appropriate nucleophiles results in α-functionalization.Benzoylacetone on reaction with iodosobenzene or iodosobenzene boron trifluoride-etherate in methanol yields α-methoxyacetophenone (9) and methyl phenylacetate (10).The possible mechanisms for these reactions are discussed.

Cannon, Jack R.,Patrick, Vincent A.,White, Allan H.

, p. 1811 - 1821 (2007/10/02)

The crystal structures of 1,1,2,2-tetrabenzoylethane (3), 1,2-diacetyl-1,2-dibenzoylethane (4) and 1,1,2,2,-tetraethoxycarbonylethane (tetraethyl ethanetetracarboxylate) (5) have been determined by X-ray diffraction from diffractometer data at 295 K and w
