Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 51980-59-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,1,9,8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 51980-59:
(7*5)+(6*1)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*9)=137
137 % 10 = 7
So 51980-59-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

In this method, RH2ORH1SO2F is added to hydrofluoric acid so as to form a thick solution (hydrogen bonded complex), and the solution is directly supplied to a liquid phase reaction system in which an F2 gas is used. Alternatively, RH2ORH1SO2Cl is added to hydrofluoric acid so as to be converted into RH1ORH2SO2F by discharging HCl, and the RH1ORH2SO2F is directly supplied to a liquid phase reaction system in which an F2 gas is used. Consequently, fluorination can be carried out safely and a compound having an objective structure can be produced at low cost without causing isomerization or the like.
