Thirty five selenocyanate and diselenide compounds were subjected to in vitro screening against Leishmania infantum promastigotes and the most active ones were also tested in an axenic amastigote model. In order to establish the selectivity indexes (SI) t
A CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF 4,4'-DIMETHYLAMINODIPHENYL DISELENIDE AND 4,4'-DINITRODIPHENYL DISELENIDE
Pinto, B. Mario,Sandoval-Ramirez, Jesus,Sharma, R. Dev
, p. 553 - 558 (2007/10/02)
A simple, rapid and efficient synthesis of 4,4'-dimethylaminodiphenyl diselenide 1 and 4,4'-dinitrodiphenyl diselenide 2 is described. The method consists of the reductive cleavage of the Se-CN linkage in the corresponding aryl selenocyanates by sodium borohydride followed by air oxidation of the resulting selenolates. The diselenides 1 and 2 are readily obtained in a state of high purity, in 89 and 80percent yield, respectively.
PHOTOCHEMICAL SUBSTITUTION OF HALOGEN BY SELENOUREA. PHOTOSYNTHESIS OF DIARYL (HETERYL) DISELENIDES
Klokova, E. M.,Frolov, A. N.,El'tsov, A. V.
, p. 1935 - 1938 (2007/10/02)
After UV irradiation, hydrolysis, and oxidation of the photochemical reaction product in the presence of selenourea the halogen derivatives of the benzene, pyridine, and pyrimidine series containing donating substituents in the ring are converted into the corresponding diaryl (diheteryl) diselenides.
