Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 52900-93-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,2,9,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 52900-93:
(7*5)+(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*9)+(1*3)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 52900-93-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Multistep nucleophilic substitution of the halogen atom in 2-halo-2-alkenals
Rulev,Zinchenko,Keiko,Voronkov
, p. 129 - 132 (2007/10/03)
ipso-Substitution of the halogen atom in 2-halo-2-alkenals under the action of secondary amines proceeds via three consecutive steps: addition, nucleophilic substitution, and β-elimination (the AdN-SN-E mechanism). The main intermediates arising in the reactions of 2-chloropropenal and 2-chloro-2-butenal with piperidine were detected by NMR spectroscopy. A general scheme of the reaction is proposed.
