Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 53641-59-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,3,6,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 53641-59:
(7*5)+(6*3)+(5*6)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*9)=121
121 % 10 = 1
So 53641-59-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The synthesis of a new bifunctional analogue of ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (EDTA), 1-(p-aminophenethyl)ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (13), from the amide of 2-amino-4-phenylbutyric acid (8) by reduction with diborane and acetylation to give compo

Selective binding of metal ions to macromolecules using bifunctional analogs of EDTA

Sundberg,Meares,Goodwin,Diamanti

, p. 1304 - 1307 (2007/10/05)

The synthesis of 1 (p benzene diazonium) ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid, the coupling of this compound to proteins, and the binding of radioactive metal ions to the protein bound chelating groups are described. This procedure provides a novel approach to the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, permitting the separation of synthetic organic chemistry from radiochemistry. Azoproteins labeled with indium 111 are relatively stable in vivo and potentially useful for the detection and localization of tumors. Other chelating agents derived from 1 (p aminophenyl) ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid may permit new applications of a variety of metal ions with useful physical properties to studies of biological systems.
