Uses

Used in Poultry Industry:
P-Chlorophenylarsonic acid was utilized as a feed additive in the poultry industry for its growth-promoting effects, enhancing the growth rate and feed efficiency of poultry.
However, due to concerns about its potential toxicity and the risk of arsenic contamination in poultry products, P-CHLOROPHENYLARSONIC ACID has been banned in many countries. The ban highlights the need for alternative growth promoters that are both effective and safe for use in the poultry industry.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5440-04-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,4,4 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5440-04:
(6*5)+(5*4)+(4*4)+(3*0)+(2*0)+(1*4)=70
70 % 10 = 0
So 5440-04-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

ANTI-CANCER AGENT

-

Paragraph 00295, (2019/05/10)

An anti-cancer agent is provided comprising a tumour homing peptide having, or having been modified to present, two cysteine residues, with an arsenic atom between, such that the tumour homing peptide cyclises to give an arsenic- containing anti-cancer agent. This allows for selection of an appropriate tumour homing peptide for treatment of a given cancer whereby the subsequent agent provides for a more targeted delivery of arsenic to the tumour microenvironment.

SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF ARYLARSONIC ACIDS

Yambushev, F. D.,Kovyrzina, V>,P.,Shagidullin, R. R.,Gorchakova, L. A.,Fedotov, B. G.,et al.

, p. 1919 - 1926 (2007/10/02)

1.A number of arylarsonic acids with various substituents in the ortho, meta, and para positions in the benzene ring were synthesized from diazonium salts by the Bart reaction; the products were characterized by their IR spectra. 2.By the DTA method it was established that arylarsonic acid molecules were linked together through hydrogen bonds to form oligomeric associated forms. 3.The IR spectra of arylarsonic acids confirm the presence in them of strong hydrogen bonds through which they are able to undergo association into two forms differing in the symmetry of the d isposition of the As=O bonds.A form which gives a C band arises if the arsonyl oxygen participates in the formation of two hydrogen bonds simultaneously, as a result of which the molecules are linked together to form endless chains and columns. In the other form there are probably cyclic dimers with intermolecular H bonds.
