Valeric acid decyl ester, also known as decyl valerate, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C15H30O2. It is an ester derived from valeric acid (pentanoic acid) and decanol, and is characterized by a long hydrocarbon chain. This colorless liquid is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. It is commonly used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes and cosmetics due to its pleasant, fruity odor. Additionally, it serves as a solvent and a component in various industrial applications, such as in the production of lubricants and as a flavoring agent in food products.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5454-12-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,4,5 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5454-12:
(6*5)+(5*4)+(4*5)+(3*4)+(2*1)+(1*2)=86
86 % 10 = 6
So 5454-12-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A levulinic acid by the method of preparation valeric acid and pentanoate (by machine translation)

-

Paragraph 0058-0060, (2017/08/30)

The present invention provides a process for preparing valeric acid and by levulinic acid formylvalerate ester, to levulinic acid as a starting material, the hydrogenation catalyst and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid metal salt as a catalyst, the hydrogen atmosphere catalytic hydrogenolysis reaction, to obtain the valeric acid, continue to valeric acid as the raw material, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid metal salt as catalyst, adding alcohol compound to carry out the esterification reaction, to obtain pentanoate. The invention described in the laevulinic acid preparation valeric acid and formylvalerate ester, it has simple process, mild reaction conditions, high product yield, easy to be purified, environment-friendly and the like, and is suitable for large-scale industrial production. Cu-catalyzed alkylation of Grignard reagents: A new efficient procedure

Cahiez, Gérard,Chaboche, Christophe,Jézéquel, Michelle

, p. 2733 - 2737 (2007/10/03)

The presence of NMP (4-9 equiv.) clearly improves the yield and the chemoselectivity of the Cu-catalyzed alkylation of organomagnesium reagents. Thus, secondary and tertiary alkylmagnesium chlorides were used successfully for the first time in such a reaction and ester, amide, nitrile or keto groups are tolerated. The procedure is cheap, environmentally friendly and very easy to carry out (1-3% Li2CuCl4 or CuCl, THF, 20°C). It is an interesting alternative to the classical alkylation of organocuprates reagents. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
