Macralstonine is a natural compound derived from the plant Macralstonia macrophylla Wall. It is characterized by its sparing solubility in most organic solvents, except for chloroform (CHCl3), and can be crystallized from pyridine by the addition of ethanol (EtOH), forming colorless, rectangular rods. Macralstonine exhibits optical rotation values of [α]D +27.5° (in CHCl3) and has an ultraviolet spectrum with three absorption maxima at 230, 260, and 294 nm in EtOH. Its sulfate form is crystalline with a melting point of 263°C (decomposition), and its derivatives, such as the O-acetate and O-methyl ether, have melting points of 215-222°C and 202-207°C, respectively. The base of Macralstonine contains hydroxyl, methoxyl, acetyl, and four methylimino groups.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5594-42-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,5,9 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5594-42:
(6*5)+(5*5)+(4*9)+(3*4)+(2*4)+(1*2)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 5594-42-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
