Nuclear substituted 2 ethylphenol derivatives containing free, esterified or etherified hydroxyl groups were found to be very active against Ascaris suum in vitro. Their activity was similar to that of other phenols with known anthelmintic properties and their acute toxicity in mammals was very low. A series of 2 ethylphenol derivatives with free hydroxyl groups was found to be additionally effective against the fertilised eggs of Ascaris suum.
