Strontium formate dihydrate is a chemical compound with the formula Sr(HCOO)2·2H2O. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and is commonly used as a reducing agent in various chemical reactions. The compound is formed by the reaction of strontium carbonate with formic acid and water. Strontium formate dihydrate is also used in the production of certain types of pyrotechnics and as a component in some specialized alloys. It is important to handle STRONTIUM FORMATE DIHYDRATE with care due to its potential reactivity and toxicity.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 6160-34-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,1,6 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6160-34:
(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*0)+(2*3)+(1*4)=75
75 % 10 = 5
So 6160-34-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Solubility Behavior of the Sr(HCOO)2-Mn(HCOO)2-H2O System at 25°C

Fakeev,Akhtamova,Kon'kova,Iskhakova,Zhadanov

, p. 729 - 732 (2008/10/08)

By means of isothermal precipitation at 25°C, the solubility diagram for the Sr(HCOO)2-Mn(HCOO)2-H2O system is constructed and the range of existence of the solid phases (strontium and manganese(II) formate dihydrates) are established by X-ray diffraction analysis and IR spectroscopy. Precipitation of strontium formate dihydrate from aqueous solutions containing a 54Mn radiotracer is studied. No reactions between strontium and manganese(II) formates are shown to take place in the ranges of trace and high concentrations of manganese(II), which is incorporated into Sr(HCOO)2 · 2H2O crystals only with mother-liquor occlusions.

Solubility in the Sr(HCOO)2-Ni(HCOO)2-H2O System at 25°C

Fakeev, A. A.,Akhtamova, A. Sh.,Iskhakova, L. D.,Kon'kova, O. V.,Zhdanov, B. V.

, p. 679 - 681 (2008/10/08)

The Sr(HCOO)2-Ni(HCOO)2-H2O system at 25°C in wide concentration range is studied. The unit cell parameters of strontium formate dihydrate and nickel formate dihydrate are refined. Nickel is captured by Sr(HCOO)2*2H2O crystals through occlusion of the mother liquor.

INFRARED SPECTRA OF STRONCIUM FORMATE DIHYDRATE AND OF ITS DEUTERATED ANALOGUES

Ristova, M.,Soptrajanov, B.

, p. 75 - 78 (2007/10/02)

The infrared spectra of stroncium formate dihydrate and of isotopomers in which the formate and/or water protons are substituted with deuterons have been recorded and analized.
