Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 62574-02-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,2,5,7 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 62574-02:
(7*6)+(6*2)+(5*5)+(4*7)+(3*4)+(2*0)+(1*2)=121
121 % 10 = 1
So 62574-02-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Electrochemical 1,4-reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones with methanol and ammonium chloride as hydrogen sources

Huang, Binbin,Li, Yanan,Yang, Chao,Xia, Wujiong

supporting information, p. 6731 - 6734 (2019/06/17)

A sustainable, chemoselective 1,4-reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones by means of an electrochemical method is presented, wherein the extremely inexpensive ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) is applied as the only additive. The reaction proceeds smoothly in the air at ambient temperature. Mechanistic studies reveal that both NH4Cl and solvent methanol work as hydrogen donors.

Design and synthesis of novel natural clinoptilolite-MnFe2O4 nanocomposites and their catalytic application in the facile and efficient synthesis of chalcone derivatives through Claisen-Schmidt reaction

Aryan, Reza,Mir, Noshin,Beyzaei, Hamid,Kharade, Amin

, p. 4245 - 4258 (2018/03/21)

A series of three novel nanocomposites were prepared by modifying the surface of natural clinoptilolite using various amounts of manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) nanoparticles. These manganese ferrite-modified nanocomposites (MFO–NC) were fully characterized by XRD, FT-IR, EDX, VSM and TEM analyses. One of these novel nanocomposites with 40?wt% of manganese ferrite in clinoptilolite (MFO–NC-3) showed a strong catalytic behavior in the aldol-type Claisen–Schmidt reaction for the synthesis of chalcones. A strong catalytic synergy was observed between nano-MnFe2O4 particles and natural clinoptilolite in the structure of these nanocomposites. The products with a broad range of substituents on the reactants were efficiently obtained under room-temperature conditions within relatively short reaction times with good to excellent yields in the presence of one of the prepared MFO–NC nanocomposites. This nanocomposite also showed a strong stability and substantial reusability in the synthesis of chalcones.

Lithium amidoborane, a highly chemoselective reagent for the reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones to allylic alcohols

Xu, Weiliang,Zhou, Yonggui,Wang, Ruimin,Wu, Guotao,Chen, Ping

supporting information; experimental part, p. 367 - 371 (2012/01/13)

Lithium amidoborane (LiNH2BH3, LiAB for short), is capable of chemoselectively reducing α,β-unsaturated ketones to the corresponding allylic alcohols at ambient temperature. A mechanistic study shows that the reduction is via a double hydrogen transfer process. The protic H(N) and hydridic H(B) in amidoborane add to the O and C sites of the carbonyl group, respectively.

Examination of growth inhibitory properties of synthetic chalcones for which antibacterial activity was predicted

Batovska, Daniela,Parushev, Stoyan,Stamboliyska, Bistra,Tsvetkova, Iva,Ninova, Mariana,Najdenski, Hristo

experimental part, p. 2211 - 2218 (2009/09/30)

A large series of chalcones were synthesized and studied against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Chalcones were either unsubstituted in ring A or possessed 4′-chloro or 3′,4′,5′-trimethoxy groups. Their other ring B was variously substituted. It was found that the anti-staphylococcal activity of chalcones was related to the energy difference between the two highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and HOMO-1). Presence of hydroxyl group in ring B was not a determinant factor for the anti-staphylococcal activity, but the lipophilicity of ring A of the hydroxyl chalcones was of importance.
