6315-78-2 Usage
Uses
Used in Sunscreen Industry:
(2-benzoylphenyl)(2-methoxyphenyl)methanone is used as a UV filter for its ability to absorb and dissipate UV radiation, offering broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. This helps prevent skin damage, sunburn, and premature aging.
Used in Skincare Products:
(2-benzoylphenyl)(2-methoxyphenyl)methanone is used as an ingredient in various skincare products for its protective properties against harmful UV radiation. This helps maintain skin health and appearance by reducing the risk of sun-induced damage.
Note: There is ongoing debate about the safety and potential adverse effects of oxybenzone on human health and the environment, leading to regulations and bans in some regions.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6315-78-2 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,3,1 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6315-78:
(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*8)=92
92 % 10 = 2
So 6315-78-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Copper-catalyzed benzylic C-H oxygenation under an oxygen atmosphere via N-H imines as an intramolecular directing group
Zhang, Line,Ang, Gim Yean,Chiba, Shunsuke
, p. 1622 - 1625 (2011/05/05)
Copper-catalyzed benzylic C-H oxygenation under an oxygen atmosphere was developed starting from carbonitriles and Grignard reagents via N-H imine intermediates. The present process is characterized by the following two-step sequence in a one-pot manner: (1) addition of Grignard reagents to carbonitriles to form N-H imines and (2) benzylic C-H oxygenation (C=O bond formation) triggered by 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer with transient iminyl copper species.
