Complex Compounds of Cobalt(II) and Nickel(II) with Acetone Acylhydrazones: Synthesis and Properties

Complexes ML2(NCS)2 · nH2O, where M(H) = Co, Ni; L = R-CONHNC(CH3)22 (R = H, H3C, C6H5, p-CH3OC6H4); n = 0.1, have been prepared by reacting acetone-alcohol solutions of cobalt and nickel thiocyanates and acetone solutions of carboxylic acid hydrazides. The synthesized compounds have been characterized by IR spectroscopy, magnetochemistry, X-ray diffraction, and thermal analyses. The coordination modes of organic ligands have been determined and the molecular structure of complexes studied was suggested.
