A new general method was developed for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrrolopyrazines by condensation of 2,5-dialkoxy-2-dialkoxymethyltetrahydrofurans with aliphatic 1,2-diamines in acetic acid.In the reaction with unsymmetrical diamines the isomers with the substituents more distant from the pyrrole ring are formed preferentially.
