The invention discloses a preparation method of a thiadiazole sulfoxide compound. The preparation method comprises a following step of preparing the thiadiazole sulfoxide from thiadiazole thioether in a solvent through hydrogen peroxide in a manner of selective oxidation in the presence of a catalyst under an acidic condition at a proper temperature. In the invention, with the thiadiazole thioether as a raw material and the hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent, the thiadiazole sulfoxide is synthesized under the acidic condition in the presence of the catalyst in the manner of selective oxidation. The method is green and cheap in the oxidizing agent, is safe and reliable in the reaction, is good in selectivity, is high in yield, is less in waste solid, waste water and waste gas and is suitable for industrialized production.
