Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 6572-90-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,5,7 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6572-90:
(6*6)+(5*5)+(4*7)+(3*2)+(2*9)+(1*0)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 6572-90-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Vibrational Spectra and Potential Functions of Cyclooctane and Some Related Oxocanes

Pakes, Patrick W.,Rounds, Thomas C.,Strauss, Herbert L.

, p. 2476 - 2483 (1981)

The infrared, far-infrared, and Raman spectra of cyclooctane and two oxygenated heterocycles are examined, giving special attention to the low-frequency region.Low-frequency ring-bending vibrations are calculated from the potential outlined in the preceeding paper. The frequencies so calculated are consistent only with boat-chair structures for all three molecules.A complete normal coordinate analysis is performed on all three molecules using known force fields.
