Recyclization of 4-acylaminopyrylium salts with ammonia or primary amines, along with formation of derivatives of 4-acylaminopyridine, gives to compounds of 4-acylmethylpyrimidine series. Under the conditions of thermodynamic control, the latter rearrange into more stable pyridines.
