Meso-aryl triphyrin(2.1.1)
Anju,Ramakrishnan,Srinivasan
, p. 2498 - 2501 (2011)
Chemical equations presented. Synthesis, spectral, and single-crystal X-ray structural analysis of meso-aryl triphyrin(2.1.1) featuring three pyrrole rings and four meso-aryl rings are described. The title compound represents the first example of a ring-contractedmeso-aryl β-unsubstituted free-base triphyrin containing only pyrrole rings reported to date and generates 2-D supramolecular assembly in the solid state.

supporting information; experimental part, p. 5545 - 5548 (2009/06/23)
(Chemical Equation Presented) meso-Tetraarylporphycenes, structural isomers of mesotetraarylporphyrins, were synthesized by the acid-catalyzed oxidative coupling reaction for the first time which is an alternative synthetic methodology to the traditional McMurry coupling reaction. The structure of the macrocycle and Ni(II) complex are characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses where both form 1-D supramolecular assembly.
The Mechanism of Asymmetric Hydrogenation. Chiral Bis(diphenylphosphino)-α-phenylalkane Complexes in Catalytic and Structural Studies

(R)-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)phenylethane has been synthesised in good overall yield from (S)-mandelic acid ; its cationic rhodium(I) solvated complex has been shown to be effective in catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation with optical yields of up to 88percent having been observed. The n.m.r. spectra of complexes of this phosphine are discussed.Racemic (R*,R*)-1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,3-diphenylpropane and (R*,R*)-1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,4-diphenylbutane have been prepared. These form a range of rhodium complexes with dehydroamino-acids whose structures may be assigned on the basis of characteristic n.m.r.P-Rh and P-P coupling constants.
