"V(CO)5{P(C6H5)3}" is a vanadium-based organometallic compound, where vanadium is coordinated with five carbonyl (CO) ligands and one triphenylphosphine (PPh3) ligand. The carbonyl ligands are linear molecules with a triple bond between carbon and oxygen, providing a strong π-backbonding interaction with the metal center. The triphenylphosphine ligand, with its three phenyl rings, offers a steric bulk that can influence the compound's reactivity and stability. This complex is of interest in organometallic chemistry due to its potential applications in catalysis and as a model for understanding metal-ligand interactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 72622-82-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,2,6,2 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 72622-82:
(7*7)+(6*2)+(5*6)+(4*2)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*2)=123
123 % 10 = 3
So 72622-82-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

MECHANISM OF CARBON MONOXIDE SUBSTITUTION IN METAL CARBONYL RADICALS: VANADIUM HEXACARBONYL AND ITS PHOSPHINE-SUBSTITUTED DERIVATIVES.

Shi,Richmond,Trogler,Basolo

, p. 71 - 76 (2007/10/02)

Carbon monoxide substitution in the metal radical V(CO)//6 proceeds at or below room temperature to form monosubstitution products V(CO)//5L (L equals phosphine or phosphite). The substitution occurs solely by a second-order process according to a rate law that is first order in both V(CO)//6 and phosphorus nucleophile. The rate of reaction is strongly dependent on the basicity and size of the ligand. The carbon monoxide substitution reactions of V(CO)//5L with additional L also proceed by an associative mechanism with the rate of substitution approximately three orders of magnitude slower than for V(CO)//6.

PHOSPHINE-STABILIZED DERIVATIVES OF HEXACARBONYLVANADIUM(0)

Ihmels, Klaus,Rehder, Dieter

, p. C54 - C56 (2007/10/02)

The complexes cis- (where LL is a ditertiary phosphine), 2-μ- were prepared by oxidation of the corresponding anionic compounds with trypylium tetrafluoroborate.IR and selected ESR data are presented.
