HYDROSILYLATION REACTION CATALYST
-
Paragraph 0276, (2017/12/27)
A hydrosilylation reaction catalyst prepared from: a catalyst precursor comprising a transition metal compound, excluding platinum, belonging to group 8-10 of the periodic table, e.g., iron acetate, cobalt acetate, nickel acetate, etc.; and a ligand comprising an isocyanide compound such as t-butyl isocyanide. The hydrosilylation reaction catalyst has excellent handling and storage properties. As a result of using this catalyst, a hydrosilylation reaction can be promoted under gentle conditions.

Pyrolysis of bis(trimethylsilyl)phenylmethanol gave (trimethylsilyl)phenylcarbene by the elimination of trimethylsilanol and the products were compared with those of (trimethylsilyl)phenyldiazomethane.Alkylsilylcarbenes obtained from the pyrolyses of 1,1-bis(trimethylsilyl)-1-alkanols afforded vinyltrimethylsilanes in high yields. (Trimethylsilyl)phenylmethanols were found to be excellent precursors of phenylcarbenes and their intramolecular reactions were also studied.
