15β-Hydroxysteroids (Part I). teroids of the human perinatal period: The synthesis of 3β,15β, 17α-trihydroxy-5-pregnen-20-one
Reeder, Anthony Y.,Joannou, George E.
, p. 74 - 81 (1996)
15-Hydroxysteroids have long provided information about fetal well-being and fetal steroidogenesis. 5β,15β,-17α-Trihydroxy-5-pregnen-20-one (1a) is a major 15β-hydroxylated metabolite unique to the human perinatal period. The synthesis of 3β,15β,17α-trihy
Synthesis and Biochemical Screening of Phenylselenium-Substituted Steroid Hormones
Konopelski, Joseph P.,Djerassi, Carl
, p. 722 - 726 (2007/10/02)
The syntheses of phenylselenium-substituted progesterone and testosterone derivatives are described, along with data which help to establish the stereochemistry of the substituents in the testosterone molecules.Except for 21-(phenylseleno)progesterone, the molecules exhibit greatly reduced receptor-binding capabilities.
