The synthesis of 7-(aminoacyl) and 7-(aminoalkyl) derivatives of 1,2,6,7-tetrahydroindolobenzodiazepines is described.These compounds were evaluated for antidepressant activity by their ability to inhibit tetrabenazine-induced ptosis in mice.
