2,6-Dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone on prenylation with 2-methylbut-3-en-2-ol in the presence of BF3-etherate gives a dichroman , vismiaphenone-C (1), 8-benzoyl-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2,2-dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran (6) and an oil which could not be characterised. 2,4,6-Trihydroxy-3,5-diprenylbenzophenone (4) on partial methylation gives 6-hydroxy-2,4-dimethoxy-3,5-diprenylbenzophenone (3), 1 and 2,4-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-3,5-diprenylbenzophenone (2).
