Influence of the chemical structure and solvent polarity on the fluorescence of 3-aryl-7-benzoyl-pyrrolo [1,2-c]pyrimidines

Structure-fluorescence properties of new synthesized 3-aryl-7-benzoyl-pyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrimidines were measured in order to correlate the nature of the substituents with the absorption and emission features (absorption intensity, fluorescence quantum yield, Stokes shifts, fluorescence quenching in presence of inhibitors). The influence of the solvent on the fluorescence of the title compounds was investigated by multiple linear regressions, connecting the polarity of different solvents with the luminescent properties. Some of the new pyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrimidines show strong fluorescence in the blue region of the visible spectrum, making them potential candidates for OLED technology or advanced materials.
