Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 78195-96-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,8,1,9 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 78195-96:
(7*7)+(6*8)+(5*1)+(4*9)+(3*5)+(2*9)+(1*6)=177
177 % 10 = 7
So 78195-96-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Terminal Trifluoromethylation of Ketones via Selective C-C Cleavage of Cycloalkanols Enabled by Hypervalent Iodine Reagents

Wu, Shuang,Li, Junzhao,He, Ru,Jia, Kunfang,Chen, Yiyun

supporting information, p. 9204 - 9209 (2021/11/30)

We report the first terminal trifluoromethylation at aryl and alkyl ketones' ?, or more remote sites via the selective C-C bond cleavage of cycloalkanols. The noncovalent interactions between alcohols and hypervalent iodines(III) reagents were disclosed to activate both alcohols and the Togni I reagent in the dual photoredox/copper catalysis for the transformation. This reaction was scalable to the gram-scale synthesis, applicable to the structurally complex steroid trifluoromethylation, and extendable to the pentafluoroethylation.

Enantioselective Copper Catalyzed Alkyne-Azide Cycloaddition by Dynamic Kinetic Resolution

Liu, En-Chih,Topczewski, Joseph J.

supporting information, p. 5135 - 5138 (2019/03/29)

The copper(I) catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC), a click reaction, is one of the most powerful catalytic reactions developed during the last two decades. Conducting CuAAC enantioselectively would add a third dimension to this reaction and would

Visible-Light-Mediated Ring-Opening Strategy for the Regiospecific Allylation/Formylation of Cycloalkanols

Wang, Junlei,Huang, Binbin,Shi, Chengcheng,Yang, Chao,Xia, Wujiong

, p. 9696 - 9706 (2018/09/06)

Here we describe a straightforward and efficient approach for regiospecific introduction of an allyl group into cycloalkanol molecules employing a visible-light-mediated ring-opening strategy. A wide range of distally allylated or formylated ketones is fu

Catalytic Ring-Opening of Cyclic Alcohols Enabled by PCET Activation of Strong O-H Bonds

Yayla, Hatice G.,Wang, Huaiju,Tarantino, Kyle T.,Orbe, Hudson S.,Knowles, Robert R.

supporting information, p. 10794 - 10797 (2016/09/09)

We report a new photocatalytic protocol for the redox-neutral isomerization of cyclic alcohols to linear ketones via C-C bond scission. Mechanistic studies demonstrate that key alkoxy radical intermediates in this reaction are generated via the direct homolytic activation of alcohol O-H bonds in an unusual intramolecular PCET process, wherein the electron travels to a proximal radical cation in concert with proton transfer to a weak Br?nsted base. Effective bond strength considerations are shown to accurately forecast the feasibility of alkoxy radical generation with a given oxidant/base pair.

Regio- and enantioselective Baeyer-Villiger oxidation: Kinetic resolution of racemic 2-substituted cyclopentanones

Zhou, Lin,Liu, Xiaohua,Ji, Jie,Zhang, Yuheng,Wu, Wangbin,Liu, Yangbin,Lin, Lili,Feng, Xiaoming

supporting information, p. 3938 - 3941 (2014/08/18)

A kinetic resolution of racemic 2-substituted cyclopentanones via highly regio- and enantioselective Baeyer-Villiger oxidation has been successfully developed. The reaction could afford the normal 6-substituted δ-lactones in up to 98% ee and >19/1 regioselectivity. Meanwhile, the unreacted ketones were recovered in excellent ee values (up to 98%). It represents the best results of the kinetic resolution of racemic 2-substituted cyclopentanones via nonenzymic asymmetric BV oxidation.

MgCl2-accelerated addition of functionalized organozinc reagents to aldehydes, ketones, and carbon dioxide

Metzger, Albrecht,Bernhardt, Sebastian,Manolikakes, Georg,Knochel, Paul

supporting information; experimental part, p. 4665 - 4668 (2010/08/19)

Figure Presented Pump it up! The sluggish reactivity of organozinc reagents in additions to aldehydes, ketones, and CO2 can be increased by MgCl2, which is usually generated in the preparation of the zinc reagent. The direct reaction with CO2, in particular, opens an expeditious route to phenylacetic acid derivatives, as demonstrated in a short synthesis of ibuprofen (see scheme).

Synthesis of hexahydrocyclopenta[c]furans by an intramolecular iron-catalyzed ring expansion reaction

Hilt, Gerhard,Bolze, Patrick,Heitbaum, Maja,Hasse, Katrin,Harms, Klaus,Massa, Werner

, p. 2018 - 2026 (2008/09/17)

The intramolecular iron-catalyzed ring expansion reaction of epoxyalkenes was investigated with a preformed iron(salen) [Fe(Salen)] complex. The formal insertion of the alkene into the epoxide generated hexahydrocyclopenta[c]furan derivatives in moderate to good yields and diastereoselectivities depending on other functional groups present in the starting materials. In addition, oxygen-tethered epoxyalkenes were used for the synthesis of lignan isomers. The scope and limitations of the Fe (Salen)-catalyzed process of the reaction are discussed.
