The photoinduced synthesis and spectroscopic properties of the new mixed metal compound by UV irradiation of a mixture of Mn2(CO)10, Re2(CO)10 with S2(C6H5)2 is described.No mixed sulphur/selenium compounds nSe4-n(C6H5)4> (M=Mn or Re, n=1-3) coluld be obtained by analogous photoreactions.
