79551-14-7 Usage
Description
Ferene disodium salt is a ferroin-type reagent with enhanced characteristics for iron detection where it forms a tris complex with ferrous iron and is characterized by improved water solubility and stability over a pH range of 4 to 9. This compound is also effective for use in the detection of trace metals, including Cyanide, at 382 nm, Palladium at 432 nm, Ruthenium at 520 nm, and for indirect detection of Chromium at 593 nm.
Chemical Properties
Ferene disodium salt is Yellow solid
Uses
Ferene disodium salt is a chromogenic agent used in the colorimetric determination of iron. It was used in chromogen screening while studying non-transferrin-bound iron quantification. It was used in measuring the chelating activity on ferrous ions.
Application
Ferene disodium salt can be used for the determination of serum iron by atomic absorption, electrochemical and colorimetric methods. The atomic absorption method and electrochemical method have limited application because they require special testing instruments and are expensive, although the sample dosage is small and the analysis time is short. at present, the colorimetric method is widely used in clinical laboratories.
General Description
3-(2-Pyridyl)-5,6-di(2-furyl)-1,2,4-triazine-5′,5′′-disulfonic acid disodium salt also known as Ferene is a chelating agent which usually binds with Fe2+ ion to form coloured complex.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 79551-14-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,9,5,5 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 79551-14:
(7*7)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*1)+(2*1)+(1*4)=157
157 % 10 = 7
So 79551-14-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
