Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 79568-42-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,9,5,6 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 79568-42:
(7*7)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*6)+(3*8)+(2*4)+(1*2)=186
186 % 10 = 6
So 79568-42-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Tertiary phosphine abstraction from a platinum(II) coordination complex with SeCN-: Crystal and molecular structures of SePTA and [SePTA-Me] I ? CH3OH

Otto, Stefanus,Ionescu, Adriana,Roodt, Andreas

, p. 4337 - 4342 (2005)

Reacting [PtCl(PTA)3]Cl(PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]decane) with KSeCN in aqueous or MeOH medium results in the abstraction of the PTA ligands to yield SePTA. The reaction also proceeds quantitatively by direct reaction of PTA and KSeCN in water or methanol. The methylated PTA ligand, [PTA-Me]I (1-methyl-1-azonia-3,5-diaza-7-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]decane iodide), reacts accordingly with KSeCN, albeit significantly slower. The crystal structure of SePTA, 1, and [SePTA-Me]I ? CH3OH, 2, revealed PSe bond distances of 2.0991(19) and 2.100(2) ?, respectively. The first order phosphorous selenium coupling constants, 1J P-Se (D2O), of 722 and 788 Hz for SePTA and [SePTA-Me]I, respectively, indicates the latter is significantly less electron rich.

A 31P NMR STUDY OF THE WATER SOLUBLE DERIVATIVES OF 1,3,5-TRIAZA-7-PHOSPHAADAMANTANE (PTA)

Fisher, Keith J.,Alyea, Elmer C.,Shahnazarian, Noel

, p. 37 - 40 (2007/10/02)

1,3,5-Triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA), a small air stable aliphatic phosphine, and some water soluble derivatives have been studied mainly using 31P nmr.PTA has been shown to have a pKa of 6.0 but this basicity does not relate to the phosphorus atom but one of the nitrogen atoms in the molecule.Alkyl halides similarly add to one of the nitrogens and conductivity and nmr studies indicate that these are ammonium salts.Oxidation and the reaction with sulphur and selenium occur at phosphorus, indicated by large 31P coordination chemical shifts. All the derivatives prepared are water soluble.
