THE SULFENYLATION OF ENAMINONE ANIONS

Sulfenylation of enaminone anions on Cα' with alkyl and aryl sulfenyl chlorides or disulfides gave 1-alkyl (aryl) thioacetyl-2-styrylamines.The starting enaminones for the sequence may conveniently be prepared in one step from a substituted phenylacetone an N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal.
