Surface-active properties and their photochemical behaviors of H (1-Alkyl-4-pyridiniomethyl)phosphonates
Okamoto, Yoshiki,Hosoda, Asao,Takamuku, Setsuo
, p. 3053 - 3055 (2007/10/02)
( 1-Alkyl-4-pyridiniomethyl)phosphonates bearing long alkyl-chains of even carbon numbers of 8 to 18 were prepared. They exhibited the characteristics of surface-active agents. Upon irradiation in alkaline aqueous media, the phosphonates underwent the C-P bond cleavage to give 1-alkyl-4-methylpyridinium phosphates and as a result the surface tension of the solution also changed. The two-fold increases of the quantum yields of the C-P bond cleavage were found at their critical micelle concentrations.
Long Chain Heterocyclic Dyes. Part One. Hydrophobic Structures
Barni, Ermanno,Savarino, Piero,Larovere, Raffaella,Viscardi, Guido,Pelizzeti, Ezio
, p. 209 - 222 (2007/10/02)
A series of polymethine dyes and of their precursors, containing long and short alkyl chains, was prepared and their chemical and spectroscopic (uv, 1H-nmr) properties were briefly discussed. The electronic absorption spectra of the dyes in aqueous medium
Synthesis, Surface Activity and Micelle Formation of Novel Cyanine Dyes
Barni, Ermano,Savarino, Piero,Pelizzetti, Ezio,Rothenberger, Guido
, p. 1943 - 1948 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis, surface activity and micelle formation of three novel cyanine dyes with amphiphilic character is described. It is illustrated by combined surface tension and absorption measurements that in one case self-assembly is highly cooperative leadin
