After UV irradiation, hydrolysis, and oxidation of the photochemical reaction product in the presence of selenourea the halogen derivatives of the benzene, pyridine, and pyrimidine series containing donating substituents in the ring are converted into the corresponding diaryl (diheteryl) diselenides.
