Z-Cys(Bzl)-Gly-NHBzh is a peptide compound consisting of three amino acids: cysteine (Cys), glycine (Gly), and benzyloxycarbonyl-protected cysteine (Cys(Bzl)). The "Z" group is a protecting group for the N-terminus, and the "NHBzh" represents the benzyloxycarbonyl-protected amine group at the C-terminus. This specific sequence and protection scheme are used in peptide synthesis to control the reactivity of the cysteine residue, which is crucial for maintaining the peptide's structure and preventing unwanted side reactions during synthesis. The benzyl group (Bzl) is commonly used to protect the thiol group of cysteine, and the benzyloxycarbonyl (Z) group is used to protect the N-terminus. The compound is often used in the synthesis of larger peptides and proteins, where precise control over the reactivity of individual amino acid residues is necessary.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 80798-28-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,0,7,9 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 80798-28:
(7*8)+(6*0)+(5*7)+(4*9)+(3*8)+(2*2)+(1*8)=163
163 % 10 = 3
So 80798-28-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of an Isoglutathione Derivative by Proteases and Its α-->γ Transpeptidation

Hayashi, Mineyuki,Misawa, Masanaru,Isowa, Yoshikazu

, p. 2723 - 2730 (2007/10/02)

Benzyloxycarbonyl-L-cysteine and glycine benzhydrylamide were condensed by papain in a yield of 39.5percent.After elimination of the N-protecting group, L-cysteinylglycine benzhydrylamide was condensed with benzyloxycarbonyl-L-glutamic acid protease from Irpex lacteus Fr. in a yield of 21.0percent.From the isoglutathione derivative thus obtained, a γ-linkage between glutamic acid and cysteine was formed by α-->γ transpeptidation in alkaline conditions after esterification of γ-carboxylic acid.
