Copper(II) complexes of N-benzoyl-N'-o-substituted-phenyl thiocarbamides having the composition, , (where H2L = N-benzoyl-N'-o-substituted phenyl thiocarbamide, X = Cl(-), Br(-), NO3(-), ClO4(-) and SCN(-)) have been prepared from neutral medium. The complexes are non-electrolytes in methyl cyanide.Infrared spectra of the complexes reveal the coordination through oxygen and sulphur atoms. On the basis of analytical, magnetic susceptibility and electronic spectral data, the complexes have been assigned octahedral geometry. The complexes are fungitoxic against Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporium and Helminthosporium oryzae.
