Tetramethylhexasilane, also known as hexasilane, is a chemical compound with the formula (CH3)4Si6. It is a colorless, volatile, and highly flammable liquid that belongs to the class of silanes, which are compounds containing silicon and hydrogen atoms. Tetramethylhexasilane is composed of a central silicon atom surrounded by six other silicon atoms, with each silicon atom bonded to three methyl groups (CH3). tetradecamethylhexasilane is of interest in the field of organosilicon chemistry and has potential applications in the synthesis of various silicon-containing materials and compounds. Due to its highly reactive nature, it requires careful handling and storage to prevent spontaneous combustion or other hazardous reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 812-53-3 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 8,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 812-53:
(5*8)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*5)+(1*3)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 812-53-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Models for polysilane high polymers. 2. Photophysics of linear permethylhexasilane: A low-lying franck-condon forbidden excited singlet state

The UV absorption properties of Si6Me14 are those expected from an extrapolation from longer chains, but its fluorescence is not. The observations are best accommodated by postulating that the emitting state of Si6Me14is distinct from the σσ* state that dominates its absorption, in contrast to the situation in Si10Me22 and longer oligosilanes. Tentative assignments are considered for the emitting state. The fluorescence quantum yield of Si6Me14 is strongly temperature dependent, suggesting the existence of a thermally activated radiationless decay channel (Ea = 2.1 kcal/mol, A = 2 × 1012 s-1).
