Kinetics and mechanism of cyclization of ω-substituted pyrazolylhydrazone-ω-carbonitriles

The kinetics of cyclization of ω-substituted pyrazolylhydrazone-ω-carbonitriles (PHC), to give the pyrazolopyridazines (PP) on treatment with alcoholic hydrochloric acid, have been studied.Over the range 0.08-0.70 M, the kinetics obey the rate law: d/dt = k2 The kinetics have also been investigated in various solvents and an appropriate mechanism has been suggested.The activated thermodynamic parameters are reported.
